What it is for
Shrinks an enlarged prostate over several months. Often combined with tamsulosin.
How to take it
Take it once a day. Swallow whole; do not open the capsule.
Common side effects
- Lower sex drive or erection problems in some men.
- Breast tenderness.
Call your doctor if
- A lump in the breast.
- Blood in urine.
Take care
Women who are or may be pregnant should not handle broken or leaking capsules. Do not donate blood while taking it and for 6 months after stopping.
From our clinic: It lowers the PSA blood test. Tell any doctor checking your PSA that you take it.
